Water needed yearly / altitude / soil / pH:  1,000–2,500 mm/year from rainfall &/or irrigation. Water deeply and regularly during establishment & dry periods; use moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid saline sites and prolonged waterlogging. / 0–1,200 m / pH 5.5–7.5
